Version 5.16 includes updates
for Palm-Tech Inspector, Picture Album, Inspection Designer and
Front Office.
Version 5.16 adds the following improvements
- Added a new option to create custom cover pages. To
create a custom cover page, add a category and call it "Cover Page" (case
sensitive) and it will be printed in place of the standard cover page.
- Added the option in Inspection Designer to place text pieces a % across
the page in the same manner as QA's
- Added an option to 'lock' specific categories allowing you to designate
which categories can be edited and which ones cannot. Previously there were 2
options at the template level to either allow additions or not and to lock it
entirely or not. This same functionality is now available category by
category.
- Added the ability to edit print settings when they are set for a specific
template unless "Block all changes" is set. If you make changes to the print
settings for a template with special print settings the changes are only saved
in the template.
- Added the option to dynamically edit text pieces in Inspector by double
clicking on them.
- Added a new option to add a disclaimer when you choose to combine
summaries.
- Added the option to place the same merge field inside of a text string
twice.
- Added the option to not show the Component location line on screen.
NOTE: If you use this, you will have no way to distinguish
between components within the summary.
- Added an option to line properties for a summary
prompt which allows further control over what appears as the line identifier
in the summary.
- Added an option to set a note's font back to use the default font for
data. When you click the choose font option on a note, there is now a button
that says "Set to Default"
- Added back the option to have default disclaimer text as well as allowing
you to modify a disclaimer for a single inspection.
- Made all piece property windows in Inspection Designer resizable for
easier use on differently configured screens.
- Added the capability to have summary disclaimers
appear in summaries generated by unique rating sets.
NOTE:
the disclaimer must be contained by all ratings pieces with the unique rating
set since the summary process gathers the disclaimer from the first rating
piece that triggers a summary which is not always the same piece.
HINT: When you create the first unique rating
piece, use copy and paste to place it in other places which saves work and
guarantees consistency.
- Added new program merge fields and new merge field capabilities
(including the option to use them many more places) with different scopes.
All of the previous merge fields will work as they always have, but new
options include the ability to reference the same item based on the scope of
the merge field. For example, you can reference the category name in a piece
of text by adding the merge field [[Name]]. By scope, we mean where the
program searches for the merge field. For example, when a component scope merge
field is found, only the component containing the merge field is searched to
find the answer.
There are 3 scopes:
Inspection - this is the existing functionality you are already familiar
with. Inspection merge fields are surrounded by {{Curly Braces}}. New program
merge fields include {{Current Page}} and {{Total Pages}}.
Category - Category merge fields should be surrounded by [[square brackets]].
New Program merge fields include [[Name]] and [[Disclaimer]]
Component - Component merge fields should be
surrounded by <<GREATER THAN and LESS THAN signs>>. New program merge fields
include <<Name>> and <<Location>>.
Version 5.16 addresses the following issues
- Fixed the issue of drop lists occasionally appearing
up and placing the top selections off the top of the screen.
- Fixed the issue with Score results not calculating decimal results
correctly.

inside of Template specific special print settings

Tahoma

consistent.

editing the piece properties in Inspection Designer
- Numerous fixes and updates relating to HTML export including: Summary
disclaimers Merge fields Unique ratings systems
- Fixed the issue with summary prompts when categories are copied and
pasted.
- Improved the issue of QA's appearing on the Pocket PC screen with only a
dropdown arrow. This only occurred when forcing multiple items to appear on a
line and the QA is to the far right.
- Fixed the issue on the Pocket PC that caused reports not to print when you
set Print settings to combine summaries.
- Restructured file to create a more reliable save process on the Pocket
PC.

after a note and the text pieces contained no spaces.
- Fixed the issue that caused some merge fields not to work when an item is
printed using exact placement.
