iPhone 7/7 Plus

Date Written: 9/8/2016

Yesterday (September 7, 2016), Apple unveiled the new models of their iPhone series, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. They claim that they are the best iPhones they have ever created which should be the case with each new phone release.

The new phones include many improvements over previous models, but outside of the removal of the headphone jack there is not much that is 'earth shattering'. Speaking of the headphone jack, this is now a thing of the past with the iPhone 7/7 Plus as headphones will now connect through the Lightning connector port (where you charge your phone) by using an adapter which is included with the phone. Apple made this change as it allowed them to add a second speaker to the top of the phones which means these are the first Apple phones to have stereo speakers.

Another major change is that the phones are now water resistant. This is an area where Apple was playing catch-up as several Android phones have had this feature already. The rest of the changes include many of the usual upgrades such as: Better cameras, improved battery life, faster processor, improved graphics performance and more. The camera improvements on the 7 Plus are substantial in that they include having a second camera on the back which opens up possibilities for the quality of pictures that can be taken.

Overall the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus appear to be another good set of phones in the iPhone series. Preorders start on September 9th while the phone will be available starting on September 16th.
