Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Samsung Galaxy Note 9

On August 9th, Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phone and it was officially released on the 24th. This is the latest model in the Note series which is known for being high-end, having a large screen (the Note 9 has a 6.4-inch screen) and for including the S-Pen.

The phone includes top-shelf hardware throughout which makes it powerful. It is a sensible upgrade over the Note 8, however, there aren't any ground breaking advancements. Possibly the biggest change is that the S-Pen now has Bluetooth capabilities. The button on the S-Pen allows you to hold, single tap or double tap, and doing each of these can perform a different function such as taking a picture, flipping between the front and rear camera, and moving forward in presentations. Outside of that, there are quality improvements, but they are mostly focused on upgrading an existing feature/spec (such as a larger battery) versus being novel.

The Note 9 is an expensive phone and in some ways the Android equivalent to Apple's iPhone X. If you are a fan of Android devices and want the best phone that money can buy, then the Note 9 is worth your consideration.
