This time of year many home inspectors are getting new phones and/or tablets that they’ll want to use Palm-Tech on. Setting up Palm-Tech on a new mobile device is easy to do and this article will walk through how this is done.
Install the app - First you need to go to the Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad) or the Google Play Store (Android) and search for 'Palm-Tech'. Once you see the app, tap on it and install it.
License the app - Open the app once it is installed. You'll be prompted to enter your username/password to continue. This is where you'll enter the username/password you received from Palm-Tech when you first purchased the program. You can find this in a few spots including:
After entering your username/password a screen will appear asking you to input the ‘Inspector Name’ that is in the license. Enter this information and if you agree to the 'End User License' tap on the box and tap on 'Finish' to continue.
NOTE: It will say that the inspector name is incorrect until you have entered the complete name.
Get key files on the app - Now that the app is installed and licensed, the last thing to do is to make sure you have your template(s) and dropdowns on it. You can do this by going to 'File Manager' at the top of the Open/New screen. Here you can tap on 'Look in Cloud Drive' to see the files on your cloud. Simply download your templates and libraries as needed. If you do not see these files then you will first need to upload them from another device that has them.
