Sony Xperia Z2

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony’s latest smartphone, the Xperia Z2, replaces the Xperia Z1 that was released just 6 months ago. Sony’s latest flagship device is very similar to the Z1 featuring a completely waterproof design, quad-core processor, and an impressive 20.7 MP camera.

Although the new Z2 is similar to its predecessor, it of course comes with some new bells and whistles. First the screen is slightly larger at 5.2”. It also features a more powerful processor which will speed the phone up some. The exterior of the phone still features a glass front and back with an aluminum band running around the edge of the device. It looks sharp and feels solid. The glass exterior does cause a minor fingerprint and scratch problem, but if you use a case this isn’t a concern. The new Z2 is slightly thinner and also features front-facing speakers, making it easier to hear when the phone is facing you. It also comes equipped with Android 4.4 Kitkat.

One review of the new Xperia Z2 warned that although the screen looks great indoors, it was difficult to see when outside. This is something to keep in mind if you’re planning on using your phone outside while doing your inspection.

The Sony Xperia Z2 will compete with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 for the top available Android smartphone and for good reason. It features a great design, powerful processor, good battery life, and a great camera. It also is completely waterproof which is always a great feature to have. The Sony Xperia Z2 is expected to hit shelves in late June or early July.
