Google's Nexus 4 (November 2012) and the Apple iPhone 5 (September 2012) are two of the newest smart phones on the market. Apple's iPhone 5 runs the latest Apple OS, iOS 6, and the Nexus 4 runs the latest OS from Android, 4.2 Jelly Bean. The iPhone 5 is smaller and lighter than the Nexus 4, making it easier to carry around. However, some home inspectors may find the Nexus 4's larger screen easier to read. Both smart phones come with high quality built-in cameras with great features, such as LED flash, autofocus, and panoramic views, along with video recording. The iPhone 5 is 4G compatible whereas the Nexus 4 only offers 3G compatibility. While 4G makes activities that need a data connection run faster, it also drains battery life quicker than 3G. The Nexus 4 offers a longer battery life than the iPhone 5.
