Apple has announced it's newest mobile operating system, iOS 7, which will be available for iPhones and iPads starting Fall 2013. Here is some information on what you'll find with Apple's iOS 7.

  • Control Center - Apple now gives you quick access to features such as Airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. with just one swipe. Swipe up from any screen of the device, even the Lock screen, to turn these features on or off, or even change the brightness of your display. There is also a new flashlight feature in the Control Center, and quick access to your device's calculator and camera.
  • Notification Center - You can access the Notification Center from any screen of the device, as well as the Lock screen, just by swiping down from the top of the screen. The Notification Center shows you any new emails you have, calls you've missed, etc. and it gives you access to a new feature, Today. Today gives you a summary of your day, and notifies you of any weather and traffic you might experience throughout the day.
  • Multi-Tasking - With the new iOS 7, your device will keep track of the apps you use and update your content before you click on them. If the device knows you access a certain app at a certain time of the day, it will be updated and ready and waiting for you when you click on it to open it up. You can also click on the Home button twice on the device to see a preview of any app that are currently open, and you can now quit an app just by swiping up on it's preview screen. The new iOS7 even smartly schedules your device to update at power-efficient times, so that it preserves the battery power of your device when running updates.
  • Camera Formats with the Touch of your Finger - The iOS 7 camera puts your shooting formats, such as video, camera, etc, on the front of your camera screen, so that you can just swipe from option to option. Photos you take with the camera are also now grouped on the device right away by time and place that you've taken them.
  • Improved Safari - When browsing the internet, Apple now makes it so that buttons and bars for surfing are hidden until you scroll over them. You can also now switch from page to page just by swiping.
  • Improved Siri - Siri now has a redesigned interface that fades into view on top of the screen you're currently using with improved voice quality. It's also quicker at answering questions and now checks more sources.
