Samsung recently announced their latest and greatest smartphone, the Galaxy S5, which will be available in April of 2014. Just like you’d expect from the S5, it offers an upgrade to almost every aspect of the S4, but just slightly. You can also tell that Samsung is directly competing with the iPhone 5S when they announced the S5 will come with a finger print scanner for security.

The Galaxy S5 is slightly larger than the S4, but not by much. It also features a more powerful processor so you should notice a considerable bump in speed. It includes a larger battery, but also a larger screen so there may not be a big difference. The S5 will also ship with Android 4.4.2, the latest version of Android Kitkat.

For fitness conscious people, the S5 features a heart rate monitor and exercise tracker. These are “cool” features, but we’re not sure how helpful they really are. Probably more important for home inspectors, the S5 is water and dust resistant.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with some great features and some “cool” features that may not actually be that helpful in everyday use. However, the internal specs of the device will make it one of the best available Android smartphones. Plus, the release of the S5 should lower the price of the S4 which was a very solid smartphone in its own right.
