Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

Date Written: 10/18/2018

The Pixel 3 and 3 XL were announced on October 9, 2018 and will be released today starting in the United States. They appear to be sensible upgrades to last year's models (Pixel 2 and 2 XL) with improved hardware, but they don't have any new features that 'standout'. The Pixel 3 XL continues the trend of other smartphones by having a 'Notch' at the top.

These phones keep up with other premium phones by having top notch internal hardware and a great exterior design and feel. They differ from other top of the line phones in that they only have one camera on the back (they have two on the front). Previous models of the Pixel phone have been said to have the very best camera among smartphones and it seems like these keep up that trend despite lacking the multiple rear cameras that many other smartphones have. Another point of difference is the price. Apple and others have higher price points for their top of the line phones so the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL offer you a great phone at a lower price (although they still aren't cheap).

Overall these appear to be good devices. If you prefer Android devices, then these along with the Samsung S9 phones are a great place to start looking.
